Well,
As my jetbook has now developed a fault and is dead, I wonder when I will ever launch the browser.
Same happened to me, while i was reading a book, it stopped responding to any button/stylus. I am now waiting for RMA number. Too bad, i really liked to read outside, while trees were blossoming
So, no April 1st update, but May 1st brick to say..
Jerry, please kindly expedite the RMA process, look for email title "Re: Support query from Ectaco.com: Jetbook Color firmware 1st March" sent to support today.
Thank you!
Hey,

Seems to have been a false alarm, but very peculiar behaviour. Just tried once more 10 hours later and now the blue light came on but no screen activity. After a few resets the screen came on and battery showed 20%. Switched off and charged overnight and now it is working fine. Seems
1. Battery drains suddenly or the indicator is not correct 2. When battery low connecting to external power doesn't let the device to be switched on 3. This is still a mystery to me - explanations please: If the device which wasn't working, when switched on 10 hours later started showing signs of life.
Cheers

Battery indicator isn't perfect indeed. I can show 100-70% for days, weeks even and than go down to 0% in a couple of hours.

Are you going to add the capability to read in the landscape orientation soon?

Hi to all first!
Just want to mention, that my update process is not working (OS Version 43).
Its not possible to update the OS Version.
The device just shows a progress bar, for a short time and the device starts normally.
Seems to me not idiot-proofed...
Maybe i try it after charging it to 100%, nevertheless its not clear why it does
not work.
cheers

I wonder if Jerry's OS file were any difference from the one posted on the website. So far I have not seen any successful upgrade posted on any of the JBC discussion websites. Will there be a different OS file for us to download? Thanks.

As always, "great" job Ectaco! Not only your update doesn't work, but you did break your promise (again!) on delivering web browser

Hi All,
Ok the file that was added onto the website for the operating system 'jbcupdate.bin' for operating systems 43 and above is incorrect.
We will be fixing it ASAP.
Thanks for catching it everyone!!

Hi!
Please help!
I cant update the JBC, i started the OS update (43->49) after a while there stood "update done" and nothing happend.
Half an hour later i manually reseted the device.
And now there is just a "starting" and the ectaco label on the screen -> nothing else happens.
The device is "hanging around".
How can i fix it?
Can i reset it to factory default?
thanks in advance..
klaus

Anyone succeeded apart from @arco? Is it safe to proceed with the upgrade now?
