Hello,
I have already submitted 2 forms via the ectaco.co.uk web page and still received no answer. Also sent an email to and still no answer. Finally found this forum. Maybi this will help.
My problem is as following:
I bought the Jetbook Color in the end of March 2012, was very happy initially, although many features described on the website are not present in actual device, I still cherish hopes that they will come in an update.
However, after 2 weeks or so I noticed that the battery management is not very good and sometimes the battery reached about 60% and then the device turned off and showed empty battery (as advised in the manual I charged the device overnight prior to first use and did it sometimes afterwards). Further the problem became worse. After full charge the battery lasted for only a day or so and eventually the device turned off while showing full battery. After installing the last update it is not usable anymore at all... After I plug the charger off the device just turns off and the blue light just flashes few times as if the battery was discharged. Literally, it became a mains portable device. Are there any suggestions to what I should do?
Thank you in advance

Hey,
Thanks for the message and sorry to hear of the difficulty. First, if you would like you can send me your email in a PM (Private message), i cam make sure it is not being blocked by our spam system.
As far as the battery, issues with it are extremely rare.
NOTE: the small blue light just below the 'OK' button. When the blue light is on the device is consuming power. It should only be on if you are turning pages, drawing, listening to music or if you are connected to WiFi.
Please try the following:
1) From Settings set “Auto power “ = 4 minutes
2) Reset unit
3) Put on DC charge over the night.
4) DO NOT turn on WiFi within device settings.
5) Check how long battery with only reading books.
Hope this helps!

On average I get 3 weeks of battery life out of my JBC. What I do is I read a few pages, and leave the book open that I'm reading.
I never shut off the device, nor auto shut off, as it uses more battery to shut down and reboot, than to actually keep the page opened.
The blue led is a great indicator to see if the device is stuck doing something or not.
Make sure your wifi is off too! (in config).
In some cases it's believed to be better to have the stylus locked in the hatch/slot when not in use.

Ok guys... Was testing it for a while when had exams in school. The battery indicator was showing some completely weird and changing information. With almost no use it worked for few days showing less than 20%. (wi-fi off) Yesterday my friend asked me to show him some colour on the device. Right before that it was fully charged and I literally took it from the charger. I opened objects of art library and after 3 or 4 images it just turned off, showing "completely discharged" message. I charged it overnight and recorded this video in the morning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8BCwoLr9JU&feature=youtu.be Sorry for the video quality, but... As you can see it is fully charged. At the moment when I disconnected it, it showed "low battery" message, simultaneously showing 100% charged. It did not turn off after images scrolling though, but showed 0% battery. In the end I decided to turn on wi-fi for the sake of interest and the device turned off, showing "completely discharged" message. As I told sometimes it happens also during reading or doing something else. Wi-fi is usually off. I am fed up with this. The customer service is not responding. I want my money back.

Hi,
I still have not received a PM with your email address. As i mentioned, for whatever reason, your emails may be getting caught in a spam blocker.
Please let me know the following:
1) Your email address.
2) Your order number.
3) Your firmware version on the device.
4) When you charge the device does the red light stay on (where the charger plugs into the device)? Does it ever turn off?
5) Did you ever try re-setting the device while the charger is plugged in?
