After buying the Voice English <-> Spanish translator for Pocket PC, I have found that if the phrase you speak is not an exact match as found in the category you have opened, then no matches are found.
It would be more useful if the software did partial matches and allowed a choice of which phrase to translate, in the event more than one partial match is made.
It would be more useful if there is an option to partial match accross all categories, even at the expense of taking longer to find matches.
As it is, unless I am in the right catgeory and speak the exact phrase that in in the library, nothing is found.
A simple ability to sort the existing statements so they can be more easily found visually would also be very helpful. As it is, they are all jumbled.
Guess I sould have done better @ evaluating the demo before buying ! Unless I have missed something, as it is, it is pretty impractical to use. Maybe someone can school me !
Thanks !

Dear Sir / Madam,
Thank you for your comments.
The Voice Translator software can recognize and translate pre-recorded phrases included in its phrasebank only.
Unfortunately, we haven't got any software where you speak anything you want and it would recognize and translate it. There is no such software available on the market yet.
I'd recommend to try our new LingvoSoft Talking Translator 2007 English <-> Spanish for Pocket PC which you may find at
https://www.ectaco.com/products/LingvoSoft-Talking-Translator-English-Spanish-for-Pocket-PC
You can type in any text in either language and have it translated both ways.
Once translated, the text can then be spoken aloud in English or Spanish using the latest text-to-speech voice synthesis.

Thank you for the reply. I can appreciate the difficulity in developing applications such as these, but I don't think I was asking for the software to tanslate just any spoken phrase.
I suppose partial matches would require more processing power than the typical PDA can provide, but what about the suggestion of sorting what is already there in the catgeories so that they can be easily found visually ?

Dear Sir / Madam,
Your suggestions have been forwarded to our software developers.
Hopefully, they will sort this out in one of the future versions of the software.
