Hello and good evening.

I have an ECTACO ER400 Dictionary, that has a pretty big problem -
each time I turn it on it just writes "err" on the screen, and does nothing
else. It just stays like this. It's a Russian-English Dictionary.

Anyone has an idea how to treat this problem!?
I have no idea what to do!!!

Any help will be really appreciated..

Dear Customer,

Please try to perform hard reset with fresh batteries installed.
1. Reset the unit by pressing Reset key
2. While the message "Please wait..." or logo is displaying, press "D" and "E" to enter Self test

Hi Eric,

When you see the error message, just press the letter "Y" on the keyboard. It may be needed to press it twice. This also works for other models.
