I have tested and can confirm that the JBL can be powered through the USB port. I have used an iPod USB AC adapter to power it using the data cable that comes with the JBL.

So, if you are between battery charges and want to finish off that last bit of book, there's your solution.

True and most of us have a few "wall warts" that are made for USB charged/powered devices (Bluetooth, MP3 players, PDAs, ect..)

There is also that the JBL remains powered while the supplied USB cable is plugged in and you can replace your batteries while it's
plugged in to avoid a "cold" startup.

Thanks for the additional info. I should have been more thorough.

I mainly posted because I can't seem to find that info on the ectaco or jetbook sites. It's good to know that you have an alternative.

It is not that much of a benefit for changing batteries, though. You still have to go back to the main
menu to get the JBL to make note of the changed status of the Batteries and update the power
monitor display. It is only a little faster that way, than backing out of the book you are in and
replacing the batteries. Even if you do go through a cold start and have to find and load your
current book, to get back to reading where you left off. One thing it does do though is that the
"Recent Readings" has your last book, correctly listed when it remains powered during the
battery change.

Luck;
Ken
