"by-directional" ES-X5

Hi.
I am returning this Ectaco English-------Spanish Partner ES-X5 because it does not meet my needs.
My understanding of a "by-directional" English---Spanish dictionary is that I can:
1- input an English word an get a Spanish translation and
OR
2- input a Spanish Word and get an English translation at the drop of a hat.
This Major Dictionary is the reason I purchased the X5. It is clear after spending 8 hours reading and using the X5 that the above is NOT the case:
In the MajorDictionary wheather I choose the English or Spanish Interface, I must enter an English word.WHat if I am reading in
Spanish and I dont know the English word????
Unfortunately your Return Policy of 7 days gives me very little time to figure out and get attached.
I received it at my door at 2pm yesterday Dec 14 and I am returning it December 15. I expect to be refunded as per your Return Policy.

Please turn the device on and choose the first from the left tab then select English-Spanish Dictionary.

To change the translation directions please use the button "<=>" placed in the left lower corner of keypad (you may find the same button on the screen).

If you want to change the interface language you may do the following steps:
Please choose the "Setting" Tab (first tab from the right) and go to
'Interface Language". Choose English or Spanish depending on your needs.
