I just received my Partner ER800 and it works fine except nearly every time I switch from entering a Russian word for an English translation to the other way around, the keyboard stops working. It makes the "beep" when I press a key but nothing appears on the screen. I then must press the reset buttom to get it working again. Do I have a faulty translator or am I doing something wrong?

Looks like you didn't follow the instructions that are needed to be performed when you start the unit for the first time.
Charge the unit:
1. Open the battery compartment.
2. Check the MMC card slot and ensure the MMC card is in there and seated firmly.
3. Install the battery.
4. Plug the unit in.
5. You can switch the unit on when the bulb becomes green. From time to time it can take more then 6 hours.
Load the MMC contents into memory, calibrate the touch screen:
1. Turn the unit on.
2. You may get an error message regarding disk reformatting you should accept it with Up button.
3. The unit will prompt you to initialize it. Tap Y.
4. The unit will prompt you to calibrate it. Tap Y.
5. The screen will present you five targets (small boxes with cross hairs) in succession. The first will be in a corner (usually, lower left). Follow these around from corner to corner, tapping each one as it appears. The last one will be in the middle.

Please note that It is necessary to tap the target firmly and accurately at each location on the screen. The target will continue to move until the screen is aligned.
