Does anyone else find it bizarre that the mini only supports two formats? I'd love to try one but I have 4000 titles on my jB lite almost all in epub. I could convert them but why would I want to do that? I would think this would be an issue for everyone out there.
Regards,
joe

Hey Joe,
It supports .GIF now! I think the file support is due to the processor type. To keeps costs low and reading time high we tweaked the processor for very low energy consumption. We are always adding formats so maybe we will see other format support added soon.
Hope this helps!

Well we will see how they do in the coming months, it seems that they do an update very 2-4 weeks. I don't know about the update besides a day or 2 before they come out so hopefully they are working on something interesting like ePub support.

Given that this model seems to be the 2011 replacement for those of us who prefer replaceable battery units, it is a remarkably odd omission to leave out epub. When I first saw it at Newegg I was almost positive that they had listed it incorrectly. I mean, you have to be kidding!!! No one these days with Ectaco's track record would put out a new model that only reads TXT!!!!!!
I was set to place an order and they emailed me back telling me I was wrong, so I canceled the order. Based on the very small number of reviews there (7) they are not selling at all well. A new sub $100 would have been fun this year, but I guess we will wait to see what happens. Maybe next year they will come up with the Mini+?

I use calibre for my book "itunes", so formats are not a problem. It has batch format, so you can set it and forget it.
