I must start by saying that I really enjoy my Jetbook Lite. I've had it since Feb of this year. This is the 1st problem I've had. I took it to an appointment yesterday and when I turned it on, there is a very visible bar that is lighter that the text on the left side of the screen. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do to fix it? I've pulled the batteries (for a few minutes) and re-installed the newest firmware but no luck.

It is a solid bar o a flickering one? This flicker is a knowm problem. It becomes visible in some (all?) units under strong lighting.
Some people sent their units for replacement in warranty but I don't know if the received units doesn't have this problem too.
I think the flickering is a software problem. In my unit if I rotate the screen to landscape viewing the flicker disappears.
Try viewing some pictures, rotate the text. Do some tests to identify if you have a defective screen. But if the problem really bothers you, use the warranty to ask for a new unity.

Thanks for the reply.
It's a solid bar. I had remembered that some people were talking about that flickering problem. That's why I tried the re-install. I did try rotating the text but it didn't go away.

Hey,
Thanks for the question. It seems like a hardware issue and should be replaceable under warranty.
Out of curiosity:
1) Is the line vertical or horizontal?
2) Does it run the whole length of the screen.
To replace an item under warranty please contact [email protected]. Thanks.

The line is a vertical line that runs the entire length of the left side of the screen. I contacted Ectaco at that email and I've requested an RMA number.

Hi,
Ok great, it definitely sounds like a hardware issue and should be covered under the one year manufacturer warranty. You can contact [email protected]. Make sure you have your order number or proof of purchase so they can file a warranty claim.
Hope this helps!
