"unsupported compression method" on jetbook lite

i purchased an ebook form ebooks.com and when i tried to open the book i received the error "unsupported compression method". the book was in a mobi format. has anyone else had this problem? besides the obvious, is there an explanation for this and a possible solution?

Its my understanding they whenever you purchase a book it should have some kind of protection on it "DRM". The jetBook can play non-DRM'ed .MOBI books however it cannot play .MOBI books with the DRM on it.

Any one else familiar with the exact format eBooks.com uses?

i had purchased 2 books at 2 different places of the same title. i think that this book was a drm mobi file (.prc). is there a way to remove the drm protection?

We cant discuss, and i cant confirm or deny the possibility of removing DRM. Please do not continue conversation on that topic or i will have to lock this.

Both jetBooks can read non-DRM protected .PRC files. That is most likely the problem. Hope this helps!
