I just purchased the [u]Talking Dictionary for English to Slovak. Well, guess what? It doesn't talk in Slovak!!!!!! Now talk about misleading, deceptive advertising!!!!! Also, they promised to do a two for one deal which included the Flash Cards. Well, I didn't even get them!
I wrote to the company explaining that the advertising shows arrows in both directions between English and Slovak, but they said they don't refund software. Very cut and dry. Basically, 'you paid us and you're screwed' is how the message came across.
Their warranty states that the software will 'be free of defects in materials and craftsmanship'. Well, software coding is definitely 'craftsmanship'!!!
DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

As an update, this is what I sent to Alex in the 'Sales' department.
I assume from your non-reply that you are comfortable charging for software that does not perform as advertised. By that I mean that you call it a 'Talking Dictionary' and show arrows going both directions between English and Slovak. I just talked to American Express and your charge just showed up so I have to wait 48 hours before disputing it. The representative said that you clearly misled me by your advertising jargon and they will dispute the claim when I call back. I have taken screen shots of the pages in question in case you change them between then and now.
Also, I see that my comments on your forum are being read. I see 10 people have read it which means that as many as 10 people will NOT be buying anything from your company. I also posted a review of your software on Amazon, as another ex-customer has done.

Since we can't post but a few words at a time, here is the rest of my email to Alex (which has gone unanswered):
I want to be reimbursed for my purchase. I will gladly uninstall the program and send you whatever proof you need that it has been uninstalled. I have no use for a program that does nothing more than a hand held dictionary that I can get at Borders Books.
Also, does anyone else have problems with this forum layout not showing all buttons and emoticons????? You would think that a company that sells software could at least get their website to work..........

Dear Thomas,
We do not provide misleading information at our website, but once it happened that you felt misled, we deeply apologize. I will further investigate this issue to find out how this could happen with our content team.
I'd like to note that we did not mention at our website that the dictionary speaks in Slovak. The dictionary description clearly indicates that it has the English speech only. Showing arrows going both directions between English and Slovak means that the dictionary provides bidirectional word translation.
Moreover, we strongly recommend our visitors to download a trial version before ordering.
We sent you the download information for the FlashCards, it is rather strange you did not get it. We'll resend the download information as soon as possible.
P.S. Messages containing links to other websites have been removed by our moderator.

Thank you Val,
After downloading the phrase software, I believe that I now have something that I can work with. I appreciate your attention and resolution to the problem.
As I said in a separate email, you really should note on your description of the dictionary that (for some reason) it does not have the ability to speak in Slovak.
Thanks again,
Tom
