Everyone who is considering purchasing a Lingvosoft or Ectaco product please be aware of the deceptive offers. They are offering a bundle with most translation software that is actually 20-30 separate applications with 20-30 serial numbers. Most of the serials dont even work. Most of the software doesnt work either. The trials of these products are not functional enough to make any kind of decision. There is no telephone support available for this company and the support staff is very unwilling to help with any issues at all. I say again buyer BEWARE!!!

There is nothing wrong with the software. It is actually quite good. It fits nicely in Windows XP, configuring itself in context menus without trying to take over the computer.
Do not be afraid of using this software. It is excellent. Problems entering registration codes can usually be isolated to the errors computer luddites make while entering complicated numbers with their toes. The keyboards just need to be bigger.
A person as bitter as this poster should try getting a GED before operating modern electrical equipment like computers.
Or, try this, taken from the LingvoSoft Russian Phrasebook:
Ñêàæèòå, ïîæàëóéñòà, êàê ïðîéòè ê ïî÷òå?
(Would you please direct me to the post office?)
Thanks

1)
All keys ARE working.
Sometimes version/product and key disparity leads to an error,
also user misspelling always available..
Very rare on PDA devices with some 3-d party localization software incompatibility can be the reason.
2)
Trials have mostly all functionality available in software.
Restrictions by number of translations or only 10% database open have no harm to functional behavior at all.
3)
Regarding support its clear enough that providing tech help all over the world is not such an easy task for any software company (if its not such a giant as MicroSoft, e.g.).
Updates comming regularly and all known problems that can be solved in time will be solved.
(well, someday )

I ran into the same problem. I dunno why the registration key should be problematic.
However, I'll retry according to Kate's hint. Maybe the Lingvosoft would solve the problem so I will retry downloading and installation as well as full software removal from computer.
I am very interested in a working tool for Thai. Kate has been noticed via E-mail, but the forum should be useable too.
It would not be a difficult thing to the Lingvosoft to regenerate keys on request, it should be the simplest way
Best regards,
Axel

I tested this, I have bought the Thai Platinum pack. Two components were tested:
1) English-Thai Talking Phrasebook, product ID PB-WIND-ENTH-T-2107. Registration Key does NOT work regardless whether copying from confirmation nor typing it in manually.
2) Swedish-Thai Talking Phrasebook, product ID PB-WIND-SVTH-T-2124. Registration Key worked fine! I typed it in manually.
This can be interpreted as the problem doesn't reside on the local Windows operating system (Windows XP here).
Software and dictionnary (data base) are in general different things with no dependencies between them. This is a logical issue so one doesn't need to modify software when changing dictionnary. But confused about the last four digits in the product ID. Is this a software version number? What fixes were made in upgrading from 2107 to 2124? Does this affects the Registration Key validity check?

(cont. from previous post)
I have provided the Lingvosoft with the Registration Key associated with my copy of the PB-WIND-ENTH-T-2107 product but still not got any comments.
Of course, I am not interested of all the content in the Thai platinum pack, my main interest relies on English or Swedish together with the Thai. The English-Thai composition is well made and should have high availability, the Swedish-Thai composition only covers a few softwares BUT the Registration Key worked!
What's the problem? Confusion between software and registration keys? I do not think that the problem is a technical one, it is an administrative issue when generating download source to the end customer, improperly combined product IDs and Registration Keys maybe? A system where one Registration Key can be used for all the content of a package would simplify things and therefore be highly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Axel

Btw.
The English-Thai Talking Phrasebook mentioned above installs as such an one on the Windows platform.... However, it is announced in somewhat another manner, the English-Thai Learning Voice Phrasebook which possibly can affect the registration key generation although announced to me in package with the registration key and a hypertext link pointing out the source.
This is a possible naming convention conflict which maybe can affect the registration key generating process and thus explain the failures!
Formally, the Talking Phrasebook is offered for Pocket PC platform only while the Learning Voice Phrasebook is offered for Windows only... But the Learning Voice Phrasebook installs as being the Talking Phrasebook for Windows although not being precisely this product....
I would appreciate your comments!
Regards
Axel

Hi,
I am very confused about your silence! I have noticed the Product ID above for the English<->Thai Learning Voice Phrasebook indicating that I have problems in getting the Registration Key to be accepted!
However, when I checked your site I can find out that a new Product ID is available! The recent one reads PB-WIND-ENTH-T-2276!
What are your comments on this? I downnloaded according to your hints about 2 weeks ago...
Best regards
Axel

Dear Axel,
Please send an email with your order number and the full name and version number of the software you are not able to register. You may find it in readme.txt (three top lines) We'll generate the correct keys. Thank you.
