I noticed that the preferences tab for TTS is gone in the 2006 version of talking dictionary. Anyone know the reason for this? TTS is not great and being able to slow down the rate is very helpfull.

Would love to hear from others.

Sorry - in 2006 line we used other TTS libraries (reason is that more languages available) and its algorithm doesnt support this features..

Hi, thank you for clearing that up, damn shame though. Even my wife can't understand a word of the text to speech and she is Japanese!

I feel a bit annoyed as I first bought the normal dictionary, then paid a full prise for the talking one only to find that it sounds nothing like Japanese.
