Hello,
I have "LingvoSoft Talking Dictionary 2006 (English-Chinese (Simplified)) for Pocket PC".
I have it installed on an HP iPAQ hw6915.
After installing everything worked as it should but after a soft reset a day later the keyboard stopped working (it was still shown in the list of keyboards but not selectable, you can set it as default but when you enter the options dialog again it's back on 'Keyboard' again).
I uninstalled the keyboard and reinstalled it (with the necessary resets) but this didn't change anything.
I haven't been able to show the keyboard again since the first soft reset which caused the problem.
What can I do to get my Chinese keyboard working again?
Thanks in advance for your (hopefully) prompt reply,
Marcel

Hi Marcel,
Please try to deselect the keyboard from the list using this application
ftp://81.3.156.146/kbd_util.cab
You just need to download this file, transfer it to your PDA and launch it just tapping on it.
This is a self extract file and the program will be installed after you tap on it.
You will get it in the Programs tab.
Once it's done please launch it on your PDA and select keyboard from the list.
After that please download the keyboard at
http://www.lingvosoft.com/main.jsp?do=Lingvosoft.com-support-keyboard
Pleas perform the same as for the first cab file.
Once it's done please perform the soft reset and launch the software.

Dear Kate,
Thanks for your reply.
I tried the things you wrote but, though the keyboard works now, it asks for registration without offering a way to register.
The dictionary program itself shows as registered.
I tried soft reset twice but that didn't help.
What can I do to get rid of the demo message?
F.y.i. All 4 modules were installed on the memory card.
Kind regards,
Marcel
PS. the settings screen is still to big for the 240x240 screen and shows no scrollbar. The program itself works OK on my 240x240 screen.

Hi Marcel,
You should go to Start - Settings; Personal, Input
<Options...> choose <Register> and use the supplied reg code.

Hi Kate,
With a of lot clicking in the dark and some luck (the keyboard setup software is not compatible with 240x240 screens - see mail above) I found the field.
So here's the next problem; the registration code isn't accepted by the program (I checked it 6 times, it's the right one with which I registered my program).
Now what?
Do you change the registration code with every minor update?
Should I install the faulty version which stopped working again?
Kind regards,
Marcel

Hi Kate,
Since I saw other messages were answered but not mine I guess you didn't see the question in my message.
The registration code isn't accepted by the keyboard settings program (I checked it 6 times, it's the right one with which I registered my program).
What can I do about that / why is that?
Kind regards,
Marcel

Thank you, this one doesn't ask for registration if the main program is registered.
The previous update also kept working after resets so I'm confident this one will too.
Again, thanks for your help.
Marcel
