I am extremely unhappy. I just installed the trial version of the Simplified Chinese Flashcard software on my O2 XDA IIi and when I clicked to reset the PDA I got a hard reset, so I've lost my recent photos and SMS's and I now have to reinstall the softare.

Thank you Lingvosoft for totally ruining my day.

Hi,

Sorry for this. But could you please give the name of the operating system your devce running? Sometimes the troubles occures when the software is not compatible with OS.

Thank you.

I'm running Windows Mobile 2003 SE, which is the standard OS for the XDA IIi.

Btw, that was me posting above.

I should add that after the hard reset I did try again on as "clean" a setup as possible, and the software failed to install - it stopped while doing something like initialising registry entries.

Hi notanakin,

Most likely your device is running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition for Pocket PC, phone edition (http://www.my-xda.com/xda2i_spec.html) not
Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. And on the product page http://www.lingvosoft.com/LingvoSoft-FlashCards-English-Chinese-Simplified-for-Pocket-PC/
In System requiremens you may find that the software supports Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition (SE)

Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition (SE) Phone edition is not supported. This is the reason of the trouble. But if you give me the number of the version of your device we'll look into this problem more carefully. Thank you.

I ALSO am running 2003 SE and it is NOT THE PHONE EDITION. My partner is a Mandarin teacher and we're in the market for FUNCTIONAL software on a larger scale.

Focus on this please. It is again, NOT THE PHONE edition, as it is running on an Axim x30. I'll check back shortly.

ps. I got the same registry issue.

Hey, thanks for the non-response.

I resurrected the Axim and we are outta here.

Hi,

Sorry for delayed response. Currently our developers are trying to resolve this problem. It occurs when installing complicated (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) keyboards on some specific devices such as Dell Axim. The update for these devices will be available in spring. Sorry again for inconveniences.

Since from another recent post you were aware of this problem on 31st January, could you not post something on the download page to this effect. I have just tried to install the chinese version on my Toshiba e800 and had to do a hard reset, losing all my contacts, passwords etc. I am not very happy............
