Effectiveness is the ability of a person , function or organization
to accomplish a given goal , purpose or mission .
Efficiency is the ability of a person , function or organization to maximise productivity with the least amount of effort , time , money or other resources . Briefly effectiveness means doing the right thing whereas efficiency means doing things right . consequently , effectiveness and efficiency are not always Synonymous . it is possible to purchase effectively for example , so that the right supplies of the right quality are available at the right time. Purchasing may not, however, be efficient since the supplies are not purchased at the right price.
