I recently purchased a jetbook lite, only to have the screen start flickering after my page turns. I came online to find that many other people have had this problem and that the only fix was a replacment unit. I decided to call the Ectaco Customer Service. The man on the other end of the line answered the phone with just "Ectaco". I waited for the man to finish with a "how may I help you" or somthing of the sort, but the unfriendly "Ectaco" was all I got. I decided to break the awkward scilence and began to explain my problem of the flickering screen. He responded with a puzzled "flickering?", I said yes flickering. I was astounded that he had no clue what I was talking about because this seems to be a common issue with these readers, as seen in the forums https://www.ectaco.com/ectaco-posts/list/20041.page ; https://www.ectaco.com/ectaco-posts/list/19478.page ; https://www.ectaco.com/ectaco-posts/list/20076.page . He then told me to change the batteries, I hung up on him as I have zero

I just called again, this time they told me to mail it in, but they said that I didn't need a rma number, just write attn:warranty dept on the envelope and send it in. Is this okay? I'm afraid without a rma number there will be no proof that I ever sent in a unit for replacement? Is this how you guys do things?

Hey,

Thanks for the question. This should be Ok as long as you have the proof of purchase inside of the package.

Hope this helps!

I sent mine (with copies of invoices, emails, etc.) to:

ECTACO Inc,
31-21, 31st Street
Long Island City, NY, 11106

I sent postal flat rate with delivery conformation and got the replacement unit back in about a week.
