Hi all

Just updated to 16e and noticed some changes - one of which seems to be that you can no longer set the alignment of text!! Unless I'm just not looking hard enough. (And the type size now seems to be a book-by-book choice - much slower)

Hey,

With the release of the Mini i haven't had much a chance to put the new firmware to the test.

Which format are you using it with? Is it all books of this format or just those from a certain location?

Please let me know and i will inform the technical head and development.

Using non-DRM epub. If I force the left alignment in Calibre, it's okay. But the menu option on the JBL is definitely gone.

Hey,

Ok i got a response about it this morning, although i'm not 100% positive what it means

They said that the newer versions use an integrated system to read ePubs that is different then the older firmware and that this would provide for better support of ADE ePub format.

Sounds like to me that the module or whatever is used to read ePubs is now different and catered to ADE DRM. Anyone else know about this?

The the ability to read ADE (Adobe Digital Editions) infected eBooks is a
side effect of a change of the software ebook reading program that is
included in the firmware, the one that is tasked with reading .epub and
.pdf. The new software used for these formats is "Adobe Reader Mobile".

You can see the version number of the Adobe software, if you use the
menu button and select "settings", while in one of those two formats and
then select "About the PDF". (It says that for ePubs, too.)

For me, the single biggest plus the JetBook Lite has over the nook and the Kindle (both of which I also own) is the ability to turn off right justification. If this is eliminated, a major competitive advantage of the JetBook will be gone. Please convey to the developers that just blithely dropping this feature is not a good thing to do. Thanks!
