Update is nearly perfect.
I am still running into the issue of needing small font to have all of the text show on (only some) pdb files.
Also, my library has downloadable books through OverDrive, epub format, and they so far will not play on my JBL. Rather a specialty item, I realize, but was wondering if there might be some suggestions out there as to why or how to fix?
Thx.

Thanks for the feedback on everything! I'm not sure what overdrive is, is this a website or type of format? Please let me know and i will try to help out!

Hmm. On reexamining OverDrive, apparently that is just the audio-book software that Washington Anytime Library uses. So, they must use something else to time-lock the e-books. (Sorry.) I don't know why WAL e-books in epub don't work. For what it may be worth, here is the link:

Overdrive is an online library that is linked to local libraries allowing card holders to check out audio books and ebooks. For ebooks it uses Adobe Digital Editions on e-readers. So it should work on the JBL. Yet I have not found a way to authorize the JBL to access Overdrive pdf ebooks. This makes me wonder how do you authorize the JBL for any ADE ebooks? The e-reader must be authorized just like any computer to use ADE, so how do we authorize the JBL? (Authorizing consists of using your ADE email and password on any ebook device to open and read the ebooks).

Ok, this is how I understand it to be working (based on Adobe's ADE FAQ)
1. To use ADE on a device, both the host PC and the device must have
the same "Adobe ID" (Don't panic, yet).
2. To put your "Adobe ID" on a device, the ADE running on your host PC
must be "Authorized" through their web site.
3. After that, the ADE on your PC can use the "device.xml" file in the
".adobe-digital-editions" folder on JBL's Internal user's memory (or in the
Root of an SD card) to build the other required Adobe files and folders,
with your proper "Adobe ID" on the JBL (or SD card) to accept a readable
version of your eBook.
4. Then if you connect the JBL (or the prepared SD card) to your PC
while ADE is running you can transfer ebooks to the "Bookshelf" that ADE
maintains for your JBL (or SD card that it now thinks is a JBL).
Luck;
Ken

I have the host pc authorized through Adobe.
When hooked to the computer, a Jetbook Lite folder shows up.
Yet the JBL will not open ebooks that require the i.d. authorization.
My understanding from the Adobe web site was that when you have hooked up a device to your host computer that is authorized (host computer) that the host computer with ADE open will ask you to authorize the device (JBL) something it never did. As far as I can tell the JBL is not authorized and I don't see a way to do it either with the settings on the ADE host computer or the settings on the JBL. I have the folders for ADE on JBL, and I transfered an Overdrive ADE ebook to the JBL, but it won't open. I think it is #3 on your list where the problem arises. Somewhere along the line an Adobe i.d. (email and password) needs to be put on the JBL to authorize it, or through the ADE software on the computer with the JBL hooked up to it, but how to do this....?
Thanks.

Just as an FYI:
http://www.overdrive.com/
It's a pretty cool company. I did some consulting work for them in '03, and I still know some of the people that work there.

I had this problem too.
Even worse, with epub files and .16e I get a serif font that is not readable at 12 point. At 16 point it is too large.
So, I went back to version .16 and now I can read epub files again.
I also noticed that, in .16e, pressing the zoom button cycles you through the various font sizes. With .16, you get a pick list. I think I like that better because you can choose exactly what you want.
I'd also like to suggest that the largest point size (32) be removed and 14 be added so there is a smaller step between 12 and 16 point. I don't find 32 useful at all. (Does anyone?)

Adding 14 and removing 32 would be great in my book. I actually tried the large font once and had to read it landscape.
