Hello,
I have Jetbook f/w 0.34c. I installed the SD card (2GB or 8GB). I was disappointed how the PC-to-SD uploading process is going on. PC shows me that the uploading the 250MB audiobook will take 69 minutes and after few minutes of uploading the process terminated with an error reported. I tried several times and the problem is still there with the small variation - the upload process soemtimes stalls after few minutes. I tried to upload several small files (5..10MB) and it took several minutes to complete. I checked the SD cards on another PC - no problems. I connected Jetbook to a different PC, the problem is similar. Does anybody experience the same problem with uploading data to the SD card?
Thanks, Pavel

Hey Pavel,
Thanks for the question. If i have it correct you are trying to upload something from your PC to the SD card via the jetBook. Essentially you are using the jetBook as an SD card reader. Is that right?
I'm not positive of the transfer s

Its my understanding that the USB port on the jetbook is the old USB 1.1 standard. For transferring large files, or large quantity's of files you can get much faster transfer speeds by using an inexpensive (3$) SD to USB adapter. Which as it uses the USB 2.0 standard is considerably faster.
A simple google search for "SD USB Adapter" should find you an inexpensive option.

Thanks to all you guys for your inputs, I really appreciate this.
The idea to remove SD-card in order to upload data via SD card is good, but what is really the reason to do this with JetBook, which assumes the SD-card as internal option. Why the designers provided the SD-card upload/download option in this case?
Pls note that the USB port appears not to be too slow as you it may seem. In case you download data from JetBook to PC, then the speed is good, probably less than with the USB FLASH or SD CARD READER, but really good. The Problem, and it is definately the F/W problem, is in internal SD write. I tried four times to upload the 100MB file and it failed to do this all four times after several minutes of progress. Every time afterthat I had to return the JetBook to reality via the RESET knob. Is it a right functionality? BTW, the write to internal on-board FLASH memory (112MB) is much better performance and never fails. I would recommend that the ECTACO s/w engineers will rev

Although a lot of new PC's and Laptops have built in card readers and usb plug-in readers are fairly inexpensive, having a built in reader accessed by a standard mini-usb cable comes in handy under certain circumstances.
I would not view the built in reader in the jetBook as as the main way of updating books to the card, but as a handy alternative in case you want to load something at a library or friends house and do not have a card reader available. The mini-usb is pretty standard for most people who have any type of cell / mp3 / portable electronics and would be more readily available than an SD reader.
