After over a year of using a Jetbook I can say with NO hesitation that I get (on average) 150 page turns without EVER playing one single bit of music when the JB demands to be charged.
That's about 4 1/2 -> 5 hours total usage in maybe 3 days time.
This is BETTER than the 1st one I had, returned to the seller because it gave UNDER 3 hours, maybe 100 page turns on an absolutely full charge by the book.
Why didn't I get service for it ? I tried, and got nastiness instead.
Contacted the seller and got an advance exchange for the defective one very quickly instead.
(The JB folks laughed right at me when I asked of they did advanced replacements.)
Apparently this is because it was not purchased from THEM directly.
And as for me and the very thought of EVER buying directly from them - that is NEV

Ok,I'll try again for about the 10th time. On a forum that seems to have been completely removed from here today....(the topic was 'Help!! My jetBook Lite has frozen') I have written several times asking about this problem. Also I wrote to a technical support email at Ectaco website. Nothing. No reply at all. The 1800 number above is not connected at all...you get a message OFFERING that number for your business if you want a 1800 number??? Hello??? It's not cheap to call USA from Australia but obviously there are no more options,I'll have to fork out more money to get anything done no doubt (so far it's been an extra $40..SD card,and a reader to do the update...which didn't work) On that forum that has now disappeared,the tech guy (the famous Phil I think) just kept telling everyone to update the firmware...doesn't work. The Ectaco update instructions are vague at best,and useless if the device won't turn on properly. Why keep telling people to update if they can't turn the device on in the first place? Is it possible to update the firmware if the device will only turn on to the initial boot-up screen? Yes or no? Why don't you ever answer anything?? I'm exactly the same as the original poster above here,'fish',I like my jetBook,even though it is NOTHING like what they advertise. For instance,as far as I'm concerned you have to convert EVERYTHING to plain text format...nothing else works properly in it. That's ok,it's easy to convert them but why say it reads PDF and that? It will take a PDF file if you want to scroll a thousand times a minute...
But anyway,it doesn't work anymore,what do I do? How many more times do I need to ask for help with this? Help!!! Where should I send it for repair? Is there a service agent in Australia? Yes or no? Where is it? What town? There's a special website called Ectaco Australia/NZ....the address on it is that one in New York...??? The pathetic so-called 'technical support' link on there just allows you to email them with your query...which I did a week ago. Why is it so hard to just at least answer?...Do you want us all to go around telling all our friends that they are crazy to buy this product? Or don't you care? Obviously you don't but I can't understand your logic with that. Well,I bought this thing in Jan 2010 for $150 because at that time the Kindle was like,$380 or something...guess what the Kindle is now?...$189. Or $140 on Ebay. Hello Ecataco...or should I say goodbye Ectaco? I'm not totally stupid,I know you wouldn't give a refund,but I think you should so I can go and buy a Kindle or something that doesn't stop working after a few months,ok? Sound fair?
