I have transferred several PDF files to my new Jetbook and when I try to open them to read I get the error "Failed to open the file!". Please help!

I have had similar problems with PDF's. To get around it, I downloaded a freeware print to PDF program (I use Cute PDF) on my PC. I open the PDF on my computer with Adobe Reader and choose print. I print to the Cute PDF program and then load that into my Jet Book. I can open the files then.

Thanks for the suggestion. However these are Adode Digital Edition PDF files, there are no print rights and I can't open the PDF file with an older version of AdobeReader.

Is there an OS upgrade or firmware update that can will allow the opening of PDF files.

It sounds like these are DRM'd PDFs. As far as I know, the Jetbook does not support ADE or other types of DRM.

Dear Customer

“Apologize for the inconvenience, but ECTACO Jetbook doesn’t recognize DRM. We are working on updates to get DRM available for Jetbook and those updates will be available shortly. For now, we recommend to search files available in HTMP, ePub and TXT formats. Those are the most popular on the Internet and I am confident You will be able to find any book in one of those formats. Please, contact ECTACO Technical Support by email [email protected] if You have any questions.”
