OK
I was finally able to update my jetbook with the firmware upgrade (a nightmare all its own)
NOW
I would like to download and read NEW release books. NOT classics that I have read before. HOW do I do this??
All the books I have bought in the so called correct formats..including one today in Mobli I cannot read because I do not understand how to get around th DMR.
What the heck am I missing?
so far I am really dissappointed with my choice of Ebook device.

There are several places that sell non-DRM books. Two that I have bought from are fictionwise.com and ereader.com. Books that are sold as "multifirmat" will work when you get a format that jetBook supports. Also check out mobileread.com for coverage of most ereader devices.

i have experimented with all the formats and the sony format seems to be a tpe of PDF. it seems the most clear and most like a book. the font change bility of other formats is nice also. what format are you buying in?

The jetBook currently supports the following formats: ePub (html), Mobi, PRC, RTF, .txt, .pdf, .fb2, .jpg, .gif, .png, and .bmp.

but the question really is which format really looks like a book. why do some books have tables of contents and some do not. there seems to be a lack of standards. but what really amazes me is the cost. i can go to costco and get the real book for half the price that the ebook version is. that makes no sense since it is not like they are taking a new book and scanning it in. all new books are electronically printed so the ebook should be much cheaper.

Unfortunately, there is no such standard yet.
It all depends on the publisher of the books.
Some books are available with the list of content and some are not.
