I recently added the driver code to the Calibre ebook organizer so that it will recognize the jetbook as a device. The driver was written so that a copied file would get named <Author_Name>#<Book_Name>.<file_extension>. The <file_extension> varies by ebook format (i.e. .txt for text files, .epub for epub files, .rtf for Rich Text, etc).

For txt files, the Jetbook author and name sort work properly. But for the newly supported formats (epub and mobi), the jetbook lists the files by the original name minus the extension (i.e. Daniel_Defoe#Oliver_Twist). It neither parses the filename, nor does it read the metadata embedded in the file. This means that the author and name sort don't work.

My question is: do I need to name the epub and mobi files differently or will the final release version of the firmware support filename parsing/metadata reading for the new formats?

BTW, I am using the latest firmware: jl04-v030e

Dear Customer

You need to name the epub and mobi files differently, try to rename them.

What is the recommended naming convention? Meaning what should I name the file in order for the jetbook's author and title sort to work properly?

Dear Customer

File’s name should be name of the ebook. Check file extension if doesn’t work.
