No Operating system present? Partner B-3

I've just got a Travel Phrasebook "Partner" B-3.

The first few times it seemed to work quite well when i managed to read and change between the menus as shown in the manual.
Then I had problem with "calibrate" and the screen seemed to be frozen, so I decided to press the "Reset" button, and change to new batteries.

After pressed reset several times, the device was able to restart, on the screen appears first the greeting "Touch the screen now to see the demo in English", however before I am able to touch anything, the screen has already changed to the picture of the device (Partner B-3) and an moving arrow indicating that I should plug in USB cable.

Then I plug in the USB cable, connect it with the PC and use the program "Desktop Manager". On the "Device" view, it shows "No operating system present".

So I cannot turn on/use the device anymore.

What did I do wrongly and what should I do now? Please advise.
