The product description at the site asserts that:

However I wonder if there is any documentation describing which certain kind of the processor (arm? sh3? mips?) and version of the window ce (4.1? 4.2? 5.0?) are used for the ER850 device, and how to install these 3rd party applications on the device.

This declared ability to extend the functionality using 3rd party applications was the main point which induced me to buy this device.

Dear customer

The unit uses Sharp ARM922T Core CPU.
The OS is Win CE 5.0 Core.

Unfortunately it's closed for third-party software. You cannot install any applications to the unit.
